Drop shackles

I am interested in dropping/leveling my truck. Its a 01 Scab 2wd. i have a few questions when it comes to drop shackles.

1)Buy new or O.K. to buy used?

2)Which brand?? JDM, DJM, Springtech(never heard of them), or any others??

some of the guys say that they improve mpg, but im not that dumb.

any feedback/input is greatly appreciated guys.

Thanks!

THey are a very simple part, so it would be really hard to make a bad set. They are also pretty inexpensive so new ones won't cost much. I wouldn't think there would be a lot of used ones to buy.

the nicer ones have better bushings in them. the cheap sets (new) you have to install the bushings yourself.

Ive been happiest with my set of Ground Force shackles i had.

I gained MPG when i dropped my truck but i went lower then 2" in rear only ;)

well thats all i plan on doin is just leveling out the back to be even with the front. and using what i learned in physics in HS, the closer something is to the ground, the more force is acting upon it, with should translate into a less stiff rearend when it comes to speedbumps and potholes.

so what would be the best shackles to get, with spending more than the "norm"?

im just trying to get all my ducks in a row before/if i buy.

im wont be on for 2 wks cuz im headed to europe tomorow, but try and keep this thing alive for alittle bit.

Thanks for the input guys!!

Ground force is the way to go. I saw a set of shackles in the classifieds for 25+ shipping (prolly about 15 bucks) under the lightning FS section

I would try to find a set that comes with the 2* pinion angle shims. You need them, some people squeak by without them but trust me just get them when you get the shackles
