Jumping/vibrating

I have a weird one to ask about....sometimes-not all the time...my 4x4 Heritage will vibrate/jump while driving and it will get a bit worse as I go faster and then go away.....It will come back after a bit.

I mean it will rattle the change inthe ashtray sometimes...

I am about to get my tires rotated to see if this cures it, someone mentioned the front CVC joints getting seized (I really hope not...).

Has anyone else experienced this?

Try the tires first. I've never heard of that problem with CV joints. It could be a front end component however. The ball joints, tie rod ends and idler arms are alll high wear items on our trucks.

tires are a good quick place to start.... but i would also look at brakes.... do any of them smell hot after this happens? these trucks do have a tendancy to have the parking brake hang up, and that will make the bed bounce real bad, which could transmit through the whole truck.

Thanks for responding, I will rotate the tires but the vibration didn't act anything like when the ball joints and tie rod ends went on my '97..

Sometimes it will surge a little when I come to a corner so maybe the parking brake idea could have merit...I use it each and every day as my driveway has a slope to it...

I'll let you know what cures this for future problems...
