33's on an Expy
 

I've seen where you can get a spring spacer for the front coils on 150s and Expys, and 150s use aal on the rear. My question is that with coilss on all corners, can I get spring spacers to lift say 2" to fit 33s under my 98? I don't off road but do pull a small trailer (3000 lb max) and want to go with Edge, Supermaxx headers, and probably cat back in the new future. My goal is to go with bfg at's 33x12.5x16 on 16x10 rims. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I haven't heard of a rear spacer, and it might result in less than ideal CV angles. Rize does make a lift for your Expy to allow like 35s or 37s, you might want to look at that.

i think they make 4in lifts to allow 33's

if it were me, I'd put a 3" body lift on it and either run 33's if it's a 4x2 or 35's if it's a 4x4. The EDGE will certainly help you pick up some of the lost power. :thumbsup: The body lift kits are pretty cheap (around $200) or so plus Gap Guards, but they can look really really good if you install them correctly. Someone on here had a red EXPY with a body lift runnin' 35's and it looked pretty sweet I thought. Just a suggestion.

Since you say you have a 98 and coils on each corner, I assume you have a 4x2. If this is correct you can fit a 285/75-16 (3x11.50) by using the oem wheels and adding Daystar coilspring spacers front and rear. If you want 305/70-16's on 16x10's, you will also have to add a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift.

My Expy is a 1998 XTL 4x4. There are coils on all four corners. I don't personally care for body lifts but thought that if the front and rear coils were the same, I could put spacers in and add longer shocks to keep the ride fairly smooth and allow room for 33s. Any ideas where I can check if the coils are the same?

I have been wandering around on ebay and I hae seen aluminium spacers in 2 & 4 inch sizes. Might want to check it out. Boyd

The 97-02 4x4 Expeditions have torsion bars up front not coilsprings.
All you have to do to fit 33x12.50's on a 10 inch wide wheel is crank up the torsion bars and trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance. If your rear end sits really low you can install some Daystar coilspring spacers.

Thanks for the correction, only coils on the rear. I had a senior moment! I'll check on the daystar spacers and check the torsion bars.
