Is He Right?

Ok, Right now, My Truck has a 6" Fabtech and 35" Nitto's. I plan on Adding a 3" PA Body lift and an AAL out back So I can Run 38" Tires on 20x10 Wheels. I also plan on Re-Gearing to a 4.56 or 4.88.

A Good Buddy of mine seems to think that If I go "That Big" with my truck, that it will fall apart and not be able to handle the Stress of the 38's because its a 1/2 ton Truck, I tell him that this is a VERY Popular Setup for these trucks and People use them for DD everyday for years with no Problem.

I think I will be Juuuussstt Fine, What do you guys say?

Im not a huge fan of body lifts, but then again idk much about them (i.e. experiences good/bad, quality, longevity...etc...). Ive always been advised against them. That said, I dont think you will have any problems at all. youv had the lift on for some time now and are only adding a body lift, no problem there. the larger tires will be compensated for with regearing. i dont see any reason not too! We all knew there would be normal wear and tear when we put on bigger tires, but who cares it will look good in the end! :rocker: just my thoughts though....

You both have points. 38's will increase wear and tear on your front end. Anytime you go larger, you increase stress and wear and tear. How you drive also is a factor. Beat your truck and it will wear out quicker than one that is babied. Add 38's and abuse your truck and it will probably fall apart. I know a few people running 38's on our trucks and they are daily drivers, but it's not a "common" setup. Just be aware going in that steering and suspension components are gonna wear out quicker.

If you do it or not, your truck looks badass either way you go.

Also what are you going to do with your old wheels/tires?

skrewd your trucks stance is awesome as is...dont mess with it...its at that happy medium right, way bigger than stock but not overly huge and clumsy looking...

9" of lift and 38's   But it's all personal choice if you can afford front end components when they wear out then:rocker:

:thumbsup:body lifts are a great investment:thumbsup: i think 3in is even better than my 2in extra clearance for repairs makes a fuel pump change out very easy dont need to pull the tank, and a good time to paint that frame up, they dont alter ride quality at all ride stock just more wheel clearance

if ur runnin over 35" meats be aware your front end's capabilities will be severly taxed especially offroad. the cv's will be the most taxed. just play nice!
