Ball joint Q's

Sorry if this has been asked already. I searched through some threads, but didn't really see it.

When replacing the BJ's Do I have to mess with the torsion bars at all? This is on a 2000 f150.

My dealer about gave me a heat attack when they quoted my price to replace all 4. I'll be ordering, and replacing myself instead. Just wonder what, if any, special tools I might need.

thanks

You don't have to mess with the torsion bars.

You only have to worry about the torsion bars if you don't properly support the suspension while you're taking it apart..
Ball joint press would help. Also, if you get ball joints with grease fittings make sure you put the fittings so you can get at them when everything is back together.........don't ask..........

Couple more tips:

1. Put the boot on the ball joint AFTER pressing it in. It'll tear otherwise.

2. Swing by Autozone or Checker and get some 90 degree grease fitting nipples.

Cheerz!

Some quick questions here as well. I just ordered new upper and lowers as well, what type of grease do I need? I ordered a new set of Moog's from Summit, are these "pre-greased" or will I need to grease them once installed?
