...so i have a 3inch body lift and im wondering if i should go for a 4 inch suspension lift or the 6xer? i have a 06 xlt supercrew. plus what is the best lift anyways? i know theres alooooot to choose from....? and would i regret the 4 inch? or would it be good since i already have a 3 inch bl? plus i have a short wife (5'2) and im 6'4 plus i have a 2 year old son?..hmm just lookin for some opinions!? :thumbsup: so many questions lol sorry guys :beers: :wave:

I can almost promise you that I will be the only guy that tells you to go with the 4" suspension.

I've got an 03 SCrew with a BL. 5'1" wife, I'm 6 even, 3 year old and a 1 year old. I'm gonna add a 4" suspension lift on top of it next summer for these reason...

1. The 35's I have will still good with this set up and I can keep a spare 35 in underneath the bed and not in it.

2. The wife is 5'1"... I had a Ram 1500 Regular cab with a 3" BL and 6" suspension lift when we first got together, and she hated it. I think she could live with the 4+3 combo though, cause she loves me

3. The truck is my DD and I while I off road as much as possible, it is still not enough to justify the additional 4" lift. But hey, gotta go bigger...

So, for me its an easy choice...

Seriously think of what you want your truck to look like. After a few months we want more lift and wished we went with something bigger. Honestly, when I first installed my lift I loved it. Then I seen another truck sitting a bit taller than me, then another, and another. So I regretted that I didn't spend a bit more for the taller lift. Now I'm looking at a body lift this spring.

I haven't looked under the rear of the new body style trucks, but if they are anything like the older body style, a shackle-flip in the rear will give you about 5" of lift, and it's completely free if you've got the tools.

..ur right jk007 haha you will probably be the only one, and im going to listen to you bud..im going to get the skyjacker 3 inch lift suspension with the rear nitro 8000 shocks.

Impact9 i sorta know what i want my truck to look like, only thing that worries me is the rims, i really want the xd series rockstars or the hoss but i was reading a thread and they said it wouldnt fit with certain lifts? :confused:

do not get the skyjacker 3" lift puts alot of strain on your angles and you wont hear many good things about it...
get the 4" rancho or 4.5" superlift :thumbsup:

Go with the 6" (fabtech) .Once you start you`ll want to keep on going.

Get some side steps or pay the big buck$ and get the automatic ones.

:thumbsup: . If your going with a 4" then this is the way to go. I'll probably go with the rancho, and different shocks. I have Bilsteins right now and I LOVE these shocks. I'll be researching Superlift though.

This may sound crazy, I hope to hand this truck over to either my daughter or my son when they turn 16. :rocker:

I would recommend the 4" lift.
1. You'll have a total of 7" of lift making you higher than the guys with just a 6" suspension lift.
2. You'll still be able to run 35" tires with the 4" lift and it won't look awkward.
3. You would almost need 37" tires with 6" suspension and 3" BL.
4. Then you'll need to regear with the 37s which is about $600 per axle.
5. Imagine trying to put stuff into the back of your bed when it's 6" higher, and if you put 37s it'll be even higher than 6" as it sits now.

on the superlift the newest model of year is 04? would that still work?

you gotta point there bub, me and money dont go well..plus i was really trying not to do the regearing thing...if i really didnt have too cause of that fact that you just stated..its exspensive

theres a couple guys on here running them on 06's and i think 1 07 but correct me if im wrong...

It is expensive and if you decide to get 37's with out regearing, you'll probably end up spending even more money down the road when your transmission gives out prematurely.

Running 37's without regearing puts alot of strain on the driveline.
