Newb question about leveling.
Hey everyone,
I've been looking around the suspension forums for a while now and I'm completely lost with all of the terms and different choices being thrown around. Basically, I would just let to level my truck out. My truck is a stock suspension 2005 4x4. Stock wheels, ect. I'm looking for a cost efficient method, but I really don't want to loose any of my driving comfort (don't want it to ride rough, ect.) Anyone have any ideas? |
raise the front or lower the rear?

I think you will be happy with a leveling kit. It'll cost you about $100 if you do it yourself. Its pretty easy to put in if you have just a little mechanical ability. I recommend the autospring leveling kit.

Sorry, forgot to say I'm looking to raise the front end.

I just put a 2.5in auto spring lift on my 05 yesterday..I did the allignment myself today and it seems to sit a 1/4in higher in the front now compared to the rear. You don't notice it though and I had the neighbor kids look at it today and they all thought it still sat a little higher in the rear still so I'm happy.Oh and I did notice a slightly stiffer ride and so did my wife but nothing bad just a very slightly ride difference.I like it,it doesn't feel as squishy in the front anymore

I'd suggest the Autospring kit.

A 2" Autospring kit or a set of the Bilstein 5100s which are new shocks but will also give you the option of lifting the front 0" , 1" , or even 2" . They will ride much better than the stock shock with a 2" leveling kit.
