Yep, you can remove the rear blocks to lower the rear 2 inches.

You will probably need to replace the U-bolts when you pull the blocks due. Where are you located? I have a 2wd that I want to install 4x4 rear blocks and U-bolts. 2wd ubolts should work great for what you want to do. We could work out some sort of trade.

cool

I'm in the pensacola area. But will the bump stop hit the axle now instead of the ear on the block?

I am not sure about the bump stop. I am sure there are others that have dropped the back end on a 4X4. I would search the forums. I am in So Cal. It might be tough to trade. I need my truck daily and could not have it down a couple of days for shipping transit time to FL.

Too bad it would work out perfect.

Two inch front lifts are only about $150. Most people with 4WD trucks try to go up rather than down, but you shouldn't have any problems removing the blocks.

If you can't find U bolts anywhere, call your dealer and ask for a price. They shouldn't cost more than $10 each... but if you know where to find a fastener supply shop, you would probably be able to get a bulk package of them for the same price lol. Once I went to the Chevy dealership to get some speed nuts for my S-10 and they wanted something silly like $5 each. I went to a fastener shop and got a back of 20 for $5.50 or so.

Look in your phonebook or get online and search for hardware, nut and bolt specialty, or fastener shops.

EDIT: I forgot about your bumpstop question. If the 4WD one is too big without the block you could find a 2WD replacement for the dealer or just take a sawzall to the 4WD ones. I don't know if there's even a difference between the 2WD and 4WD ones.
