1 more inch in the rear

I ordered the bilsteins 5100's and will be lifting the front 2 more inches. I already have a procomp stage one lift. My question is what would be the best way of achieving the extra inch in the rear. And might i be able to clear 37's with this setup.

What do you already have installed in the rear now?

I have the ProComp stage II kit on my truck with Coilovers.

I have 5" of blocks, 1.5-2 inches from the AAL, and a one inch shim

If you truly only need an inch, I would get a shim kit. They are $30.

i have a brand new 2" AAL for sale for 110$ + shipping. May be a little better for the height you need. :smoke:

Its a little rougher, but i dont really notice it. I have my coilovers cranked so i was expecting a rougher ride. I drive this truck everyday. I doesnt bother me.

4WP- Part # was 52700
Its just 4 quarter inch plates that stack together and provide 1" in the back.

IM not totally sure but i think the procomp lift comes with a 4 inch block in the rear. Not a 100% sure though. And i have never even heard of a shim lift before. Learn something new everyday on this site.

pro comp kit comes with a 3" block. shims usually correct your pinion angle and can aquire you a little more height, usually an inch. heres a pic of my block setup with a shim :smoke:

Nooq, is your shim built in or are the like the 4 quarter inch plates that he was talking about a few posts up?

wfin2004 11-08-2007 07:14 PM

One more inch in the rear? That is what I gave my Wife.

tnsilverfx4 11-09-2007 10:06 AM

Jditta,

Nooq has the same shim kit I'm talking about. The little gold plates above his lift blocks are what Im talking about.

Yea, I just think I remember him saying they were built into his leaf pack because he tried to remove them. That's why I asked.

fordfanatic32 11-09-2007 02:07 PM

will the shim kit give you a true one inch of lift or a little less

nooq 11-09-2007 02:50 PM

those shims are built into the leafs themselves, i tried removing them with a tap and sledgehammer and they wouldnt budge. they did give me a honest inch of height in the rear. that is why i needed to crank my coilovers up to get the truck to sit level. the a$$ end was up higher then the front with the coilovers uncranked. :smoke:

I'm assuming the only way they are built in is that they were welded to the leaf pack?

Mine are just bolted into the leaf pack. Above is the install from the website.

Nooq did you buy your truck used? You may be able to unbolt them like in the install above.
