So I have a 2001 SuperCab 2WD. Build My Truck.

I have looked into the Fabtech 7.5 Spindle Lift. Its a bit pricey. I dont have wads of cash like other 16 year old around here. I want it to look like its definately been lifted. Also set me up with good rims and tires. I will mainly be on the street and I will do Some minor trail riding becasue I only have 2WD. I have been looking at options for months and need some better opinions.
Please tell me everything I will need to get this truck rolling.

Thanks, Hunter

If you can't spend a fortune, I'd say do a leveling kit and a body lift. You could even throw some blocks or an AAL in the back if you don't like it sitting level. That would be 5" of lift, which is definitely noticable. Wandell will have to tell you what size tire you could run, but my guess would be 34s with no trimming, and 35s with a little trimming.

Here's mine with that setup and 35s. Mine is 4x4 though.

3" body lift 2" or 3" spindle lift 2" 4x4 block on 33s

I'd install a 3 inch body lift, 3.5 inch lift spindles and some 2 inch Daystar coilspring spacers and some 35x12.50's on 8 inch wide wheels.

7.5 is clean looking! just some nice wheels and tires + lift, grill and some exterior bling:rocker: :rocker:

Yeah I forgot about those spindle lifts. That would be better than what I said before.

Hey edwardsjr1, got 2 questions for ya. 1.Where did you get your grille from? 2.Are your rims 16x8 or 16x10? I got a white ext cab, pretty much exactly like yous, cept mines a 1999, and next weekend is when im installin my fabtech lift, but im puttin baja claws on mine. I'll get pics up as soon as possible.

Thanks, Matt

I'd go with 8 inch wide wheels on a 4x2. The reason being, the Fabtech lift (as well as most other 4x2 lifts) will increase your front track width. This will make 10 inch wide wheels stick way, way outside the wheelwells.

Check da gallery...

http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...its_about_time

I have 8.5 inches total.
18x9.5 cruiser alloy $540
325/65/18 nitto $860

3.5 inch doetsch spindle $400
2 inch spacer $75
3 inch bodylift $175

Alignment w/ 18"s free--normally $109.99

new lower moog balljoints $37.99 x 2
New slave cylider 37.99

All labor done myself w/help in the shop I manage. And all products at cost where applicable. Well over 2 g's invested. That's about as cheap as it comes. You will more than likely need some portion of your suspension replaced, or steering gear replaced.

I still need gears, around 600+.

All in all, there is no such thing as cheap. At least in terms of my definition. You will loose mileage, and gas. Concentrate on school and reward yourself when you graduate COLLEGE, or enter a profession.

And my truck still does not look high enough.

Well i got 2 buddies that already have the 7.5" Fabtech lift, except one has a 3 inch body lift sittin on 37's and 20 inch rims, but my other buddy just has the 7.5" lift and he got 8.5 inch wide rims and his front look good, but you can tell the back dont stick out as far as the front, and i just dont want to have to pay for spacers...anybody got any pics of a 2WD with 10 inch wide rims?

Thanks, Matt:rocker:

does anybody know wut size rims edwardsjr1 has on here? his truck is identical to mine on the exterior, and thts exactly wut i want mine to look like except different tires...or if anybody has any pics of 35"s on a 2WD 97-03 body style, could they post em?...

btw, thanks for the feedback on my other posts, it has helped a lot:thumbsup:

madmaxwell87 01-29-2008 10:44 PM

i say go with 3" spindles, 3" body lift, and a 1" block to level the truck. youd probably be able to fit 35's but im not sure, maybe just 34's
