6" lift w/ 35's

After so many hours of staring at all these great looking lifted trucks I'm going to step up and get a 6"RCD lift with 35" tires for my '07 XLT. Most of my driving is on the highway but I like the 35" BF Goodrich tires (LT325/65R18) for the look. On the RCD website they don't have the 2007 6" lift kit listed, but the '06 directions claim to fit up to a 17"x8" wheel on a 35" tire with 4-5/8 of max backspacing. I see a lot of 6" lifts on here with 18" and 20" wheels.. I'm lost on this one... Any help on this would be appreciated.

Sounds like a great plan to me bro!! Thats exactly what i plan on doing. The word around the block says the 6in. RCD kit is one of the best so good choice on that one.
IMO.. if you are doing mainly highway and street driving 20's would be fine but if you do a lot of off-roading i would go with some 18's. Wrapped in some 35's would be perfect!

I have a 6" Fabtech lift with 18x9" wheels & 35x12.50" tires with zero issues.

I'd go with 35's on 18's. If you are referring to RCD's fitment recommendations, they all tend to be a little conservative. They don't want someone whining after purchasing a lift and then finding out that 38's rub.

Thanks for the advice. Have any of you used the 'performance computers' (like EDGE products) in conjuction with a lift/35" tires? Are they just 'nice-to-have's' or 'must-have' products? I don't see myself making it out to the desert more than twice a year, but I sure like shiny electric add-ons.:rocker:

they are a nice addition to aid in the bigger tires. you can set tranny shift points to help you get through your gears more effieciently. If taller gears are far down the road for you, i would def look into a programmer or custom tune to assist in the power loss. :smoke:

Thanks, I will be re-gearing at the same time as the lift.

THat's even better than a tuner.

I dont know if this helps, But I am running a 6" Fabtech and 35s with a 20" wheel. I have the Edge Evo programmer, and yes, I love it!! I couldnt imagine NOT having one now
