Talking Started on it today

I started on the body lift today. Right of the bat i ran into trouble, one of the bolts for the rear bumber was turning inside, so i had to cut it off.

The front bumber came off with no problem at all.

Then i started on the bed bolts. The first five came out alot better than i expected. The last one took a grinder and a few choice words to get it loose.
One question i do have is where do all of the plastic blocks go? I could only find 4 places on the cab and six for the bed. Where do the other six go?

You should leave the front bumper off, it looks pretty cool :P

Those are probably extra for different cab/bed configurations, but I think there's eight for the cab even on a regular cab. Six inside the cab and two FESM mounts (front end sheet metal) up by the radiator support.

Just look under the truck at the frame for all the body mounts. Every bolt that holds the body to the frame needs a spacer.

Check out my gallary for pics of how I installed GM towhooks. It really cleaned up the look of the front end with a body lift.

Wandell, which bushing do you have to drill out? The one's up at the very front have a funnel shaped part, do you drill it out and if you do how does it fit in the lift block?
Thanks

Spray some WD40 on it an maybe tap it with a hammer. Be careful not to booger anything up.

just shake it

and try turning it back and forth with some pressure, it has to go straight back, not at an angle so take that extension off so you can straighten it out with more room to work.
