Rear Springs
 

Anyone had to replace the rear springs? If so, how much did it cost?

Ford came out with 3 different capacities for the 04-07 F150 which are 1500, 1700, and 1900 of which these springs are between 150-170 each. There's a custom spring too which has an extra leaf on it for HD spring with a 2400 lb capacity and they're 200 each and will give 2.5" of lift so if you don't want lift you may not want those but good for towing or hauling. If you give me your oem number to your leaf springs I could tell you what your current spring capacity is and the oem number will be stamped on the overload (fat bottom spring). I own a spring shop in case you're wondering how I know this.

Hey KansasJoe, do you carry lift springs? I'd like a pair of leaf Springs that I can replace my stock ones with that will give me 4" of lift, thus doing away with lift blocks and such.

There were two numbers stamped on the bottom....

RPN 3384 and 4L34

Either of those the number you were looking for?

The 4L34 is a good number but there should be a couple letters by it such as LH, ML, PK

cuisi: spring shops can do away with your blocks via high arc leafs. the problem then lies with the leafs being made to do what you want with them. you plan on towing? hauling? 4 wheeling? street driving? what extremes?

my leafs imo are too thick per leaf and offer too little articulation for my tastes. but man they handle the loads i put on it like champs, and they are designed for 1000lbs payload.

Ok, your whole part number is 4L345560ML which is a 1700 lb capacity spring. I just put up a page on site of which the top 3 are exact replacements to actual Ford springs and the bottom one is a custom spring which is the 1900 lb capacity spring with an extra leaf with it. Thanks, KansasJoe. What do you think is a fair price to have those installed?

All of the bolts should come out pretty easy since it's a newer truck. Lot of labor is gonna depend if they move the gas tank or just cut the bolt out on the driver side. I'd say you're looking 3 hours so probably about 200-250 for the pair to install. We would charge $200 if that helps but not sure of labor rates where you're at.

I've got the 36 gallon gas tank, so it sounds like it might be somewhat complex. This all started because I've got about 2/3 of an inch body lean to the left side when the fuel tank is empty. According to the Ford dealer, it's only leaning a half-inch and within spec. I think it's more than that. Short of replacing the springs, any thoughts on how to get it to sit level?
