Lift for 00 F-150?
 

Hey everyone.:wave: I am new here, but am very avid on Mustang Forums. I have a 2000 F-150 4x4. It has the 4.2L in it. I am currently running the stock wheels and 315/75/16 Kumho Road Venture Tires on it. I want to go up, but not too much, because of budget. I wanna use lke 2 or 3 inch blocks in rear and turn the torsions up in front. Is this possible to get enough lift in the front to match the rear? Could I use different keys instead? What is the ride like? I have heard it really sucks. How much could I go up in the front before its gonna be too much to get the front end aligned? Sorry for all the questions, I have searched and searched for a small lift beause of the 4" lifts for independant front suspensions being upwards of 1400 bucks. Is there another way I could get 2 or 3" of lift(susp wise only, no body) without going me aforementioned route? thanks fellas!!

If you're going for a level look after your lift, you'll have a hard time getting that much out of the torsion bars. Your front end is already likely sitting 2 inches lower than the rear, so if you put more space back there, you will stretch that more. On my 2001 150 4WD, I managed to get about 1.75 inches on the adjustment in the front. If you want more, you'll likely have to do something more up front too.
Watch the angle on your CV joints, the more severe it is, the more premature wear you will have due to the adjustment. Do get an alignment though, whatever you do. Its only 40 bucks, and will save you in the end. Good luck.

Any reason you don't want a body lift? I've always had great results with them.

I dont know about installing a body lift. I always thought they would look bad. I dunno why. I don't know whats involved either. How hard is it?

It's not that hard, but is time consuming, tedious work. It took me an entire weekend to install mine.
