Spindle Lift kits
I had a question regarding spindle lift kits. I know the one fabtech makes puts the front wheels out a couple inches and i was wondering if all spindle lift kits are doing the same thing?
Another question is for those of you that have had them installed (97-03 body style) what were estimates given to have them installed? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks guys |
The pro comp spindle will not push the tires out, plus it depends on the backspacing you get off the rims. And with a little know how, you can install the spindle yourself.
|
Well id like to use the stock rims if that helps. Also dont you need a spring compressor to install them?
|
i just got a 3.5" fabtech spindle lift. do you know how much they push the front wheel out. i will be using the stock wheels. the reason i ask is i am getting wheel spacers for the back.
|
I'm under the impression all lift spindles increase the front track width a little.
|
i agree with wandell, im pretty sure lift spindles increse the front track width
|
Yah it will push it out about 1 to 2 inches. also i was charged 300 for my suspension lift.

the pro comp with stock wheels shouldnt push them out more than an inch if that.. fabtech will about 2in. And no you dont need a coil spring compressor, i used a jack stand to hold the truck up, and then the jack under the lower arm to compress, take the old spindle off, new on, some more stuff..and done. dont need to worry about it springing off, cause the shock will limit its extension.

look at the brad on ebay though... if they are belltech...no bueno!!!! i know its hard to mess up cast iron, but it can be done, stick to fabtech and procomp for the spindles, check out performancelifts.com, when i got my spindles i paid about $450, free ship... and bought the alignment cam kit, and didnt even use it...had no need. still have it if anyone needs one. then get some bilstien 5100's and you are golden...$600 out the door and can be done yourself.

i put on the 3inch pro comp spindle lift. I also put on 2 inch leveling coils. Once the lift was put on my tires were off by negative 5 degrees camber. I put a camber kit on and my tires are still off camber a degree and half. So i have to take off the leveling coils so i dont wear out my tires.

Well theres a kit ive seen on ebay put out by a company called spring tech or something like that and the kit has doetsche spindles which ive heard is a reputable company? Anyone else heard of it? If so your opinions.
Also anyone one here have any pictures of a 97-03 2wd f-150 with body lift and spindle lift? |
I am fixing to get the 3.5 inch springtech spindles and i have heard good things about them.
|
I have a 2001 2wd. I don't have a body lift on it yet, I just have the 3.5" Spindles with 285/75/16's BFG A/T. more pics and info in my profile.
