Exclamation Problem with my level kit install

I had a 2.5" Autospring installed on my 04 2wd reg cab stx, and there is a clunk in the front end whenever I hit a bump. The techs at the garage say it is the upper control arm hitting the spring itself whenever the suspension flexes. They also said there is nothing they can do about it. They said it won't hurt anything, it's just annoying. It has rubbed a little paint off the springs, but nothing else so far. It has been installed for about 600 miles now. Anyone else have similar problems or suggestions on how to fix the situation.

Here's my $.02.

I installed my 2" AS spacer in my driveway and I ended up not tightening up the swaybar endlinks enough where they join the aluminum lower control arm. My truck would clunk when cornering and going over a bump at the same time. Once I tightened them up no more clunk.

I do not have an AS so I am no expert. However, I am researching how I want to level my truck and I have read several posts that say exactly what Stealth suggested. . . . loose nuts. Several posts indicated that they had checked and rechecked the nuts and thought everything was tight only to go back and retorque everything and the clunk was cured. I would check the nuts again. As to the uca hitting the spring, AS supposedly redesigned the spacer with an offset so that the uca was supposed to no longer hit the spring on full extension. I have read several posts that indicated that the offset cured that particular problem. If your uca is hitting your spring, I would be concerned that you got an AS without the newer offset design or possibly that the AS was not installed correctly, if that is even possible.

Thanks guys, I took the truck down to the garage this morning, and they torqued everything down. Turns out the bolts on top of the strut that hold the spacer in place were a little loose. The clunk is gone. Thanks again for all your help.

I am just glad your problem was solved with little trouble. That's a good feeling. I remember one time I was told I needed a brand new cruise control unit for only $1,300.00. Turned out from a second opinion, I had a bad $35.00 in line pressure sensor. I like those kind of endings. Good luck and let us know how you like your AS's. I am still looking at a few different options before I level my truck. I am looking at the AS 2", and the bilstein 5100, and the Rancho rs9000XXX.

I like this kind of ending too, I just wish it had happened two months ago when I brought the truck back to the garage for the clunking. I'd recommend to anyone living in Hendersonville to double check any work you get done at Brian's Motorsports. Now that the noise is gone, I couldn't be happier with the AS level. Can't really tell any difference in ride quality, and the 285's look good under the truck.
