06 Body Lift

ok,
I have an 06 screw 6.5 ft bed on stock 20's. From reading past posts. Is it correct there is currently not a 3" body lift for my truck. I have the ebay 2.5 levelling kit that I will put on in the next week or 2. Money is an issue and want to stay under $1000. Also is it worth selling the 20's and going to 18's as a way to save money and get a wider tire? Also there was mention of a problem with the console shifter with a lift kit.

Other projects down the road:
Airraid intake hood. New dual exit exaust

I think the only thing diff for the +06 trucks is the bumper brackets are diff than the 04-05

Right. One member here has a body lift on an 06, but the rear bumper and hitch required some custom fabrication. If you give Performance Accessories a little while, I'm sure they will have a complete kit for the 06-07's.

HEY WRK4GAS do you have the center concole shifter? if you do, did u have to mod the lift? or will the lift take care of the problem?

TonkaTruck33,

I do have the center console shifter and as far as I know, the BL Kit included everything I needed. I had the BL installed at a 4x4 shop, sorry I don't have a more solid answer for you.

I just got this response from PA about the 06 body lifts. Although we understand the reasoning and a member has found a way around it the release date is around Christmas so I may wait. Now I just have to decide between the lift and the Ram Air hood

"Cliff, We are working on the kit and hope to have it released within the next 60 days or less. My understanding is that the key difference is in rear bumpers. There is some difference with the front bumpers, but it is apparentley minor. The rear bumpers are substantially different. If you are anticipating using this kit on a personal vehicle, or a support type vehicle, it may be wise to await the new release. If this will be used in tactical configuration, you may be modifying the bumpers , which would require different brackets than those we supply."

cliff2026,

My guess...they are trying to figure out a bracketing system where the hitch is still usable w/o intense fabrication. My brackets use 3 existing holes BUT in no shape or integrity to tow anything. Reason being, 2 holes from the bumper to the bracket and 1 hole from the bracket to the frame...pretty thick bracket though.

Good luck and LMK how your other MODS work out. I plan on doing the same. THANKS!

Sonny
