Will installing a leveling kit void my warranty on my new rig?

I suggest calling ford and asking them. Doesn't matter what anyone on the internet says , it's what ford says when you try to make a claim.

Yup and its funny what Ford will tell you BEFORE you do it. My dealer said they'd void ALL warranty work if I lifted my truck, which they can't, but afterwards they still did work on it under warranty.

You don't need to call Ford. You need to call YOUR dealership. Some dealerships are cool and even sell new lifted trucks. Some seem to be looking for a reason to void your warranty. This is really something you should find out before even buying a truck. If they are gonna give you a hard time, take your business elsewhere.

Thanks all, yeah I know, should asked before I bought and i know the dealer makes the final decisions. I live in Reno, so we only have one Ford dealer, I hope they are cool when I call them about it. I should get it in some kind of writing as well huh.

Talked to my dealership after I bought my 06 FX4 and asked them the same question. The answer they gave me is "the warranty is void if the problem in question has anything to do with what you did or installed". So, if I install a leveling kit and in 5,000 miles the ball joints, ect. wear out....it's my problem. Same as if you installed a program for the engine. If they find it was installed the warranty is viod on the engine and/or anything that relates.

I paid the extra for the 6 year 100,000 warranty, so this is the reason I hate to lift mine up. Hope this helps.

That's good advice. You can follow that with any manufacturer or dealership as far as mods go.
