Going Higher

Hello all I just joined the forum looks like alot of good info here. Heres my question, hopefully some one can help meout. I have an 06 F150 4x4, I had a pro-comp 6 inch lift put on and some 35 tires and was not happy with the height of the truck when it came out of the shop. It was just as high as my 99 F150 was with a four inch lift!!. I have called around and found that 6" is the highest unless I went to a 12" bulletproof system. I know I can put a body lift in addition but, what about rasing the torsion keys can I get another 2" of lift from that? I dont really need to go much higher 2 or three inches would be perfect. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

I have read that you can get 1-2" fro tightening the torsion bars. If you read down a couple of posts it tells you in those how to and that many do get the 1-2".

I think the 06 model did away with Torsion Bars and went with coil overs, Didn't they? I think you might be able to add a 2-2.5" leveling kit on the front... Not sure how you add more to rear.

Post some pictures of your truck.

yup, no torsion bars on the new body style 04 and up. I think the 3" body lift on top of the 6" suspension lift is a popular choice for those who want to go a bit higher. I've read on here where some have asked about adding the 2.5" spacers in the front and an add-a-leaf or taller block in the rear but I hear that is not mechanically the best choice for the front end.

If you wanted to do away with your lift and go with a higher suspension lift, take a look at Rize, I've seen some pretty sweet trucks on here with that lift set up on the new body style F-150's

Yeah, either add a body lift or swap to a Rize kit.

I'd take a look at Rize, you could go with either the 8" kit or the 12" kit. I'll be getting the Rize 8" pretty soon.

The level goes on top of your coils in the front then you sit level with your rear there is nothing done to the rear when you level the front...when i got my 6" lift is was lifted 8.5" total in the front and the rear was leveled out with blocks...ill put some pics up!
