Replacing Shocks?
When would you guys say is a good time to replace the shocks?
How long do the stock ones last?
What type would you recommend?
Thanks for any info.
I'm @ 112000km now. Would this be a good time change mine?

goodluckhey ok thanks.. I will ask around...
As for my tires yes I'm running the 285-75-16's.... I have not touched the suspension or torsion bars yet.. I might crank the torsion bars up but I'm not sure just yet...
Here is a quick pic of the tires on my truck.. they are not the best pics but should give u an Idea..

Might not be a bad idea. Shocks wear slowly over time, so its hard for you to tell the difference because it never really feels like its driving differently.
But if those are the original shocks, I dont think it would be a bad idea.

I took the POS stock shocks off at 500mi. and put on a set of Rancho 9000x's
on my 250.
Night and day difference.

They're also cheaper than most of the aftermarket brands (got mine for $280 from the dealership, not installed), which works fine for me since I like these better
How long do the stock shocks last. It depends on what you expect from them. I've know people who ran them for over 150K miles with no problems. On my 03 the shocks and RTS's were a memory by 400 miles. Both SUCK....
Change them, you wont realize just how crappy those stockers were until you've experienced aftermarket replacements. I've used Monroe Reflex's with excellent results on the last 3 F150's I've owned, but shocks seem to be one of those parts that everyone has a different opinion on.
Good luck

they came right from factory... did you ever get any for your truck ?
The factory shocks can go as long as 150,000 miles without doing any damage, but I can guarantee that long before they get there, they're not damping the suspension movement the way they should.
In my experience, the factory shocks are only good for 15,000 miles, max. After that, a good quality replacement is in order. Rancho RSXs, 5000 series, or 9000 series are my favorites. As with most things automotive, you get what you pay for.
