KINGs new suspension for newer F-150s

King has come out with a new suspension set-up for newer F-150s.
Has anyone given this a try. I have been into lowered trucks for as long as I can remember but this set-up looks pretty hot. It features 2.5" coil-overs in the front and 2.5" non coil-overs in the back. I read about this in the new issue of Dirt Sports magazine on page 42 (if anyone is interested). What are your opinions on this(good or bad, how could you have bad opinions with KING products)

Thanks

Yea, I want that set-up, but it cost ~2,200. I will do this or the Donahoe in the spring.

Same kit will go on 4x4 or 4x2. Kit has two front 2.5" shocks w/coilovers and res. and two rear 2.5" shocks with piggy-back res.

King does make the best off-road shocks on the market. Its also very true "you get what you pay for".

I inquired about a kit for my 05 2wd and I was quoted $1750. He pretty much said "its more like a leveling kit to raise the front end, with a great ride and able to handle some abuse" I'm not sure if I will go this route, at least not now.

I'm putting the King sytem on next week (or, the week after if Thanksgiving gets in the way).

There's a feature on the kit in the JAN '06 issue of Off-Road magazine, too. We were able to double the off-road speed of the test F150 we installed the Kings on. The front can be adjusted from 0-2.5" of lift (King claims up to 3"). The front coilovers and rear reservoir shocks are a major upgrade from stock.

Cool. Let us know how it goes and how you like them.

I am also interested in how easy it is to adjust height--do you just jack the front end up and turn a screw or is it more complicated than that. If it is that easy, that is a great benefit becuase you would be able to return your suspension to stock angles whenever you wanted with ease.

What else was done to the F-150 to make you double the speed(or was it just the suspension itself)?
How was the ride?

Thanks

garscott - You just get the front wheels off the ground and turn the preload ring with a steel dowel or punch. It's very easy. I'll report on how my installation went.

MyVersion - We actually installed the suspension on a rental F150 (!). No other modifications were made. The truck shuddered and stuttered over bumps in stock form, then smoothly handled the same bumps with ease at twice the speed once the Kings were installed. A good indicator of how well they work is that I'm installing the same shocks on my own F150.

One more thought on hieght adjustment--would you need an alignment after each adjustment? Thanks.

I read the article in Off-Road magazine. It looks interesting. How long do these shocks last? $2000.00 seems like a lot of money for shocks! King's website is still under construction.

I'm curious on how long they last to, are they rebuildable?
Also does anyone have any close up pics of the front and back installed.

Thanks
