Rancho 5000's. Any Good???
I'm planning on replacing my shocks with the Rancho 5000s to hopefully improve the handling. Anyone have any input on these or any other brand that they think greatly improved their ride?

I had a set on my last truck and was happy with them. A lot of people swear by Bilstiens. I think that's what my next set will be.

they arent to bad, i am trying the fox shocks next saposed to outperform the beilstiens

I went with Koni, pricey but tight even on the lowest setting. Very noticable difference even though my factory shocks only had 30k miles on them.

I have had the following shocks on either of the 2 F-150's I have had, maybe this will help, listed in order of price from lowest to highest:
1. Rancho RS5000 - (Good economical shock, on the medium side of firm.) 2. Trailmaster SSV - (Better than the Rancho's, on the medium side of firm, but started rusting all over after 6 months.) 3. Bilstein - (Top of the line monotube gas pressure shocks. BUT!, I had 2 go bad in the first 6 months, one right out of the box, another the first time I drove off road.) 4. Pro Comp MX-6 Shocks - (Excellent all around heavy duty shock, will go from soft to very stiff, 6-way externally adjustable shock.) |

In case anyone's interested... samsoffroad.com is offering a free 9000rcx Dual Remote Control when you buy a set of 4 RS9000X Shocks @ $289.95, with free shipping...
I thought that was a pretty good deal... Roland |
