Question shocks

Ihave a 2003 SCAB 2wd. and the stock shocks are too soft. WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD SHOCK TO REPLACE THEM WITH , Edelbrock, Rancho, or Monroe? I hardly ever drive off-road. Has anyone tried the Monroe Reflex Truck Shocks?

I just purchased a set of Gabriel Max Control for my 2000 scab 4x4. They are a monotube shock like bilstein or edelbrock for about $20 a piece cheaper, they really made my truck handle better, but were a bear to put on. Needed to compress the shock and slip in the front. Ended up after the first side wiring compressed until positioned. I'm 6foot 210 lbs and could barely comress the shocks. Bought at Autozone, life time warranty. Only complaint is every other gas shock I have bought came compressed and cut band after one end bolted up.

My vote is for the Edelbrocks...but shocks is one of those things were you'll just have to make a decision. 20 people will leave you with 20 different recommendations, and you'll still be just as confused. They'll all pretty good and better than stock. I would say that the Edelbrocks and the Rancho 9000's would have to be the two most popular in here. Bilsteins are pretty awesome to and that will be my next shock just to try something different...

I had the Rancho RS9000s on my 2000 truck. What I enjoyed was the ability to adjust them to my taste and to adjust for towing/hauling and then back.

Best price for Rancho's is going to be right now during their annual buy 3 get 1 free sale. www.samsoffroad.com has the best prices and no shipping. I put the RS9000X's on and like them very much. Easy to adjust for daily driving, or off-road, or towing.

Rancho has buy 3 get one free right now and they make good shocks. The RSX favors the stiffer ride and is under $150 right now from Sams Offroad.
