Time for Shocks?

Ok I think I may need some new shocks on my winter beater here but I'm not sure....

It's a 2000 F150 4x4 Lariat extended cab and here's what it feels like...

When I hit bumps in the road it almost feels like the tires don't want to keep contact with it. Like they want to jump or skip the road a bit bounce around somewhat... Maybe a better word would be that the truck seems springy? Got about 85K miles on it and I have no idea how old the shocks on there are as I just purchased this thing a few thousand miles ago.

Thing this sounds like shocks being bad? This is my first truck that wasn't designed to feel like a "TRUCK" when driving. So I'm used to feeling shakes shimmies bumps and hearing slams and noise all the time.

If so .. What do you guys recommend for a REASONABLY priced set of Shocks to slap on this thing (keeping in mind this is not my "baby" its merely my winter vehicle). No need to throw the $300 suspension upgrade on this bad boy if you know what I mean.

The RS5000 are a little stiffer than what many people prefer. IF you cna wait another month or two, Rancho will probably have another buy three get one free sale and you cna step up to the RS9000x. Adjustible for your taste/load.

Thumbs up

RS5000's are nice on mine, smooth ride. If anything they feel softer than most shocks I've had. Monroe reflex, Gabriel VST's, Monroe Gas Magnum, they all felt stiffer to me. Ranchos seem more mellow, and much more relaxed through rough dirt, shell parking lots, etc. It definitely sounds like your shocks are gone, mine does the same thing when it's time for new ones.,,,,98

Check out Bilstein shocks, call Daryl at Shox.com. Mine were $242.80 plus $15.00 shipping from CA to FL forall four. He'll give you the same price if you call.
