Post Billstein Shocks

I have seen a lot of posts on Rancho, Edelbrock, and Monroe shocks, but not much info on Billsteins. Anyone have any experience with these? They must be pretty good for Ford to choose them as OEM on the Lightnings, but I was wondering if anyone has used them on their "regular" F-150's. My stock units seem to be working to the best of their ability, but the roads here are terrible and I would like to get better control and handling from my truck. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

jacap1,
i've run the bilstein shocks for years. i'm planning on a set for my truck this summer. i'm having a hard time deciding between these and the rancho 9000's. many folks seem to like the rancho's. good luck, Rich.

I use Billstein's on my F-150. They are awesome! I'm glad I went with them over the Racho's.

Thumbs up

I put Bilsteins on my wife's 98 Expedition and am extremely satisfied. I will be putting them on my 99 F-150 soon. I think I got them for about $65.00 ea. at Auto Zone.

Did the Billsteins help out with the excessive body roll inherent to these trucks? I have been considering a rear anti-sway bar, but I have heard some horror stories from people in the posts here. If the shocks will help out enough, then I may not need to invest the time/money in a rear anti-sway bar. Thanks for your opinions.

Thumbs up Shocks may do the trick!

Definetly do the shocks and if you do Bilsteins you should be very pleased. And yes, they should take out most of the body roll!

If I were to do it over, I'd do the shocks first. Of course the new Helwig anti-sway bar was easy for me, since on the Expy it's a replacment, not an add.
