Shock comparison
On a mild suspension drop (either a 3/4 or 4/5) does anyone have any input on shocks? I'd like to avoid a shock that is harsher/firmer compared to NEW stock. Of the brands: beltech, doetsch, etc, is there one in particular that seems to provide a smoother ride? Any experiences out there?
I'd say Edelbrock but I think there's for a lowered truck are only for up to a 2" drop.
I'd also check Bilstein. I think that's what Rousch(sp) uses.

sundog7,
My SuperCrew has a 2/4" drop with Doetsch Tech shocks. The ride is not harsh at all. I was warned not to use the Belltech shocks (manufactured by KYB). Apparently, they are known to fail. I don't know this from experience. If you lower your truck 3" in the front, be sure to use 2" drop A-arms with 1" drop coils. A 3" drop coil will leave your truck with less than an 1" of travel and really make for a harsh ride regardless of what shocks you use. LOL
