Post Lightning 4x4?

I was wondering if anybody has done this conversion before. I have a 94 Lightning and would like to make it a 4x4. Here is what I have come up with. I have an old 78 4x4 and was going to use it for the front axle I might use a independent front end.
I don't know about the tranny any suggestions? I thought I saw an article on this in a magazine once.

Who said anything about "Super"? Just thinking of it gives you Hero status. Actually doing it? well....I will definately nominate you for the "Super" part then. LMK

KOEPKE~
Hey, just wanted to see how your project is coming along. I also saw the same magazine article as you. I'm sure I still have it somewhere in my stacks of magazines. I'll try to look for it sometime. Best of luck!!

I saw a similar article in Car and Driver a few years back... they transplanted the engine and trans from a lightning into a Bronco, lowered the suspension for performance, but retained the 4wd capability... it looked awesome!!!

I'm still looking for the right parts I want to go solid axle up front like one off of a 73-79 F150. I have a 74 4x4 I am using as a parcial donor just not sure of what kind of coil springs to use and steering components to use.
