CCLA:

Yep, just got back home with it about an hour ago; and I'll have to say that I'm very, very, very, very pleased with it.

The coil spring leveled the truck out perfectly. The ride is a little more firm than the stock springs, and it seems to handle a little snappier, or atleast it feels more responsive.

It took about two hours for the guys to install them; I am however going to have to purchase some adjustable cams/bushings or something another, so he can adjust the caster and camber.

2 hours of labor was $120.00

Let me know if you need any more information.

Oh! almost forgot: you'll have to grind off the bump stops on your upper control arm.

CCLA:

You've 3" spindles on the front, if you install the coil springs, as I did, you have a total of 5" of lift in the front.

Are you going to purchase some 5" blocks for the rear.

Sure would like to see a picture of your truck.

Take it easy.

Actually I'll have 8 inches of lift total.

I'm adding a 3" body lift this weekend. I'm gonna run 35's. Thats why I'm asking about the kit you got. The 35's might not fit with just the spindles and body lift.

Those adjustable cams/bushings, what are they gonna run ya?

Does your rig look like it needs an alignment bad?

Do they think you'll have alighnment problems?

I E-mailed Rough Country's Answer man about my truck . He replied that they would not work. I dunno, If they're working for you I might just have to get a set.

Nitrox,
What made you choose the Rough Country over the Fab Tech leveling kit? I'm looking into the same set-up and trying to get some pro's and con's..

Thanks,
Doug

CCLA:

The adjustable camber bolt kits for both sides were $60.23

After the kits were installed and aligned it looks perfect. Before they were installed and aligned, the tops of the tires/wheels were pulled inward.

The drivers side camber is still off by
( -0.56 of a degree ) Ford prefers the camber to be ( -0.15 of a degree ). If I'm reading this print out correctly.

The passengers side aligned perfectly.

The technician said that after the springs get settle in, and some miles are put on them, that he could re-align it back to specs.

I did'nt ask about any future problems with alignment. But he did say that I had a 5000 mile warranty, and that after about 1000 to 2000 miles to bring it back in and he would re-align the front end for free up to the 5000 mile warranty.

I guess this is for the springs settling in.

Summary:

2" Leveling Kit
by Rough Country $161.00

Labor for Installing
the springs $120.00

Front Kit and
Alignment $151.79

Total = $432.79

*I think I'm off a couple of cents on the springs.

DOMO:

I basically choose them because I had been calling around to nearly everybody in the magazine, and nobody had anything for me.

I wanted a little stiffer ride.

I ran across the Rough Country add and called them, they said they had them, so I purchased the springs.

Plus they said if I ran across any problems I could return the springs.

The springs were'nt but $149.00, it seems everyone else wanted to sell me kits ranging from $790.00 to $3300.00.

Hey Nitrox, where did you get the adjustable cams/ whatever you needed to do the alignment? And do you have part numbers? Just so I can get everything I need at once. Also, are you gonna post pictures of the truck?

The shop that I took my truck to is "Thomas Tire" located in Asheboro, North Carolina.

They were able to get the adjustable cam kit for me. I can get their part number from the invoice, but I'm not sure if the part numbers are theirs or the manufacturers.

I'll post some pictures as soon as I get some other work done to it, about 3-5 days.

I'm going to call "FabTech" to see if I can order their control arms for it next; so I can have more travel.
