Harley 20's on Screw 4x4 ??

Hello out there,

I am getting a great deal on some Harley 20's with the Goodyear GT II's (I think those are stock tires) Does anyone see any problems with me putting these 20's on a 4x4 ? What about changing the height (to make sure it still fits in the garage) Any insight would be great ! Thanks always to the best site for info. !

I believe they will fit fine. Tirerack.com sells 23s for the Supercrew 4x4.

More numbers

HD - 275/45R20
Standard SCrew 255/70R16
FX4 265/70R17

I beleive you can put 305's on an fx4 without any lift.

Just a note: if those Harley rims/tires are used, and you aren't buying them from either a) a Harley owner who has gone aftermarket, or b) a wheel/tire shop who took them in trade from a or c) a junk yard with a wrecked Harley - my guess would be that they were boosted off of someone's truck. I have seen several "my HD rims were jacked" posts on the net lately. You may not care - but I sure would hate to buy some rims and have the rightful owner show up one day with John Law and get me for possessing stolen goods.

JDMnAR,

Sorry, I shouldve mentioned that the reason its a good deal is because a 02 Harley owner did indeed go aftermarket on his truck (I believe he went to 22's). He's a friend of a friend who's just looking to make a little money from them to pay for his 22's. I too have seen many posts about boosted rims and certainly dont want to be part of that.

** Thanks for the other replies I got. So, since I am going from the 17'' 265/70 R17 to the 20'' 275/45 R20 that it shouldnt affect the clearance of the truck for putting into the garage ? Thanks !

Glad to hear it is a legitimate good deal! :) As far as the change in stance, just look at the total height of your current rim/tire combo as compared to the HD setup. As an example, I went from a stock General tire (235/75x16, if I remember right) with a mounted height of 29.7" [numbers are approximate - slept a few times since then;)] to a 285/75x16 that was 31.2" tall. So my tire swap only raised my truck something like .75".

Unless your putting huge tires on that truck, it may look funny??? But other than that I would see not problems unless your diameter exceeds around 33-34 inches without lifting it.

I'd love to see some pictures if you do it. Please post em here.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I finally got the deal hammered out with the guy and I am getting the rims and tires for $1950 and they have less than 100 miles on them :D They are getting shipped to me in the next week or so. I will certainly post some pics when I get them on. It should look awesome! :D I've never seen another Screw with the Harley 20's on them (besides the HD editions of course :p ) Thanks for all the info. guys !!
