Who has the best deal?

Am interested in buying a new Super Crew. Will be trading in my '01 Sport Trac. Have seen several posts where you guys have bought up to $5000 BELOW invoice. What are your suggestions on where I can get the best price?

Thanks,

Marc

Don't pay any attention to those posts, I made one to make a point. Unless you work for Ford, best you can do is Xplan + rebates. This time of year, you should be able to get rebates on 2002s, Ford used to give equal or greater dealer rebates on year end models (dealer got a rebate equal to consumer rebate or greater). That is how people get 4-5K under invoice... consumer rebate + the dealer throws in some of his rebate. The buyer thinks he's getting a great deal.... Check the Fordvehicles.com website to find out what rebates are offered in your zipcode on the vehicle you like. Search the forums for info on Xplan (1% below invoice). Good luck...

Clarification - x-plan is Ford employee A-Plan price + 4% + $150. This is the exact number which may or may not be below invoice, but in most cases is.

This is the entire x-plan tier for all of Ford's vehicles:

Ford/Mercury/TH!NK___A-Plan + 4% + $150
Lincoln_____________A-Plan + 4% + $250
Volvo______________A-Plan + 2%
Land Rover_________Dealer Invoice + 4%
Mazda_____________E-Plan (Mazda employee price) + 5%
Jaguar_____________$500 - $1,500 cash allowance based on model

I bought a 2002 Supercrew 4x4 Lariat 5.4 with:

-3.55 Limited Slip
-FX4 off-road package
-towing package
-captains chairs
-moonroof
-cd changer
-two toning
-cab steps

for $31,900 out the door. The price was $2,000 below invoice. I think I got a good deal, but probably could have done a little better. However, it was the easiest truck purchase we have made next to purchasing our 4Runner. :D

Wow 5K under invoice, where did you see that???

maybe under sticker with a discount plan and a rebate but not under invoice...

Either way, I know that when I priced the SCrew compared to other trucks and SUVs out there the F150 was the most truck for your buck....

good luck and let us know what you get and how much you ended up paying for it......

If you're looking to compare, here is the deal I got a couple of months ago.

2002 SuperCrew XLT FX4

3.55 LS
5.4 Engine
Two Tone Paint
Towing Package
6-Disc CD Changer
Sliding Rear Window
Side Steps
Electric Drivers Side Seat
Bed Shell

Price: $30,700.00

I did not take any rebates, instead I took the 3.9% financing. Of course, 1 month later they offer the 0% option .

Yes under invoice. All the plans end up being under invoice (A,X,Z). On x-plan mine ended up being under invoice, but I don't recall by how much.

I just got a mailer for $1000 rebate on SuperCrew or 0% (doesn't give term), $2500 rebate on F150 or 0%.

Marc - give Akins Ford in Winder a try. I have been dealing with them for years and they have always shot me straight. Of course we deal directly with the owner, Brad Akin, but we have sent many people there for vehicles and almost all of them bought from there. Just a suggestion.

I got my Supercrew about 3 months ago thru cars direct.com with rebates it came to $24105 msrp was $28105 I have the sticker. Best way I have ever bought car, no hassle what so ever.
