Guys, or is it Gals?

What's really funny is we were all trying to help H13 and everyone got wrapped around the axle.

No offense taken Dudley Do Right, still got your moose?

BTW, I did post some of the numbers in an earlier post but I guess some thought I pulled it out of my ***, ouch! I only rattle off numbers that I know are legit and if I don't know I say it's just a guess or something to that effect.

Being an Engineer has humbled me more than anything I've ever done in my whole life.

Take your truck to one of those stone yards where they sell rock in those round "cages" or by the pound. Around here, I go to Luck Stone (it's a national chain). If you want to buy a bunch of rock, you have to drive on their scale and get weighed first. I was surprised that my SCrew weighed in at nearly 6100 lbs.

Were you in the truck sundog7 when they weighed it? If so that just about accounts for the extra 1000 pounds...

Just kidding

Daveman, That would be because the question was "approximate" weight. Do you want it to lbs, oz, tenths, hundreths, thousandths?

Hey Jr,

Why settle for approx. when Ford has done the work already. I didn't think it really mattered since the data Ford has is as good as info gets on something they designed and have full control over. Some have said I needed to type it out for them and hell, all it takes is one click to open the pdf file. The guy who aske the original question is not even wrapped up in all the confusion and the folks trying to help are debating and the guy asking the original question is just sitting back laughing.

I bet someone can generate even more info than we can all read by asking how many gallons of gas does an F-150 holds. I put a link to the info and someone slams me that I didn't sit down and write it all out for them, I give up........

Daveman,

Yeah, I know, but don't take it personal.... funny how difficult it can sometimes be to communicate online.... and you know, there are always some who would rather someone else spell it out for them rather than figure it out themselves... just a different personality type.... after all, it is a free world

did anyone figure out that ford rates there vehicles dry weight. take the exrta 25 galons of gas at 7lbs. per gallon=175lbs. oil in the axle, motor and the coolant system would be another 20-25 lbs. so whatever it says on the broshure or the door it is not correct unless you drain everything out. just my 2cents

Come on guys, what about:

Moonroof?
Captain's Chairs?
Leather seats vs cloth?
Overhead console?
Bed Extender?
Larger tires?
Lariat package?
Sliding Rear Window?
Electric Windows?
Electric Door Locks?
Two Tone pain?
Class III Trailer hitch?
Factory Installed Running Boards?

These things were not even mention as a factor in the curb weight. Don't they change the curb weight?

Hey H,

You are a trip man, there are countless numbers of different combinations of options with each truck offered by Ford so what did you expect with your original question? Ford only lists weights of common configurations and not each and every possibility. Of course all that stuff you mentioned makes a difference as common sense would dictate. This thread has been beaten to death.

The damn things weights whatever it weights so what difference does it make anyway and what are you going to gain by knowing it?

Here are some more questions to ask in the future:

1. How thick is the paint?
2. How much steel is there in a Super Crew?
3. How many ***** are there in the wheel bearings?
4. How much oil is in the engine of a 5.4L?

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn! Just having fun!

Daveman,

I was just adding a little more fuel to the fire.

You answered the question with your link to the ford site.
