I'm looking forward to getting screwed!

I figure the subject line will create a fair amount of interest?

Anyway, I really am looking forward to getting my first screw! I have spent so much time thinking about the thing that I actually need to get screwed now. I have been screwed alot of times in my life but most, if not all were two door types and sometimes backseats, if you know what I mean.

This Super Crew forum is fun, is it not? How I digress.....

Back to screwing issue.
I would be ready today to order my '02 screw but I still have 2 things I can't seem to get off my mind.
1. '02 front buckets, are they better than late '01s or no change?
2. '02 ORP, has anyone seen a full picture of a truck with the new FX4 badge on a Lariat yet? I really want the ORP but I am unsure about how the whole package looks because the literature I got from my dealer last week just shows little shots or specific views with no overall big picture experience.

Please help so I can either order it or forget about it, at least for awhile . This screw is consuming me these days and I need to make a decision and if I don't get some relief then I may explode, so your opinions are needed.

Thanks a bunch, oh and have fun with this thread.

DaveMan,

I haven't seen the 02 ORP package but understand, I think, there are no significant changes besides the wheels and the name. I took the stickers off the side of my truck and I'll try to explain why. Have you ever noticed a nice looking truck, maybe a few years old or more and the one thing that always stands out to me is> the old looking 4X4 Off Road decals. They tend to date the truck more than the condition of the truck itself. Make any sense?

As far as the seats, I have a GenIII with the new style cloth 60/40 bench, I don't like that the arm rest is shorter than last year but, I find the seat is very comforable and the support is good. I think I am in a good position to comment on my new seat because my truck is 3 months old today and I have put 10,000 miles on it all by myself:D

Ed

PS: If it wasn't on the lot with the ORP, I would not have ordered it.

Thanks for the reply S'CrewLoose,

I guess replies are hard to come by for a late model truck that is, at best, barely available for viewing. Maybe I'll luck up and someone will reply that either has a new '02 screw like the one I want to order or has a freind that has something real close.

To everyone else,

Any more help with the original questions will be appreciated.

I feel your pain brother,

I too am anxious to order a 02 Screw , with the FX4 package .
I currently own a 99 supercab 4x4 and want to upgrade to Screw.
Not to happy about giving up a foot of bed space but really love the REAL four doors and REAL back seat. My kids are getting bigger and it's getting tighter and tighter back there.

When are they 02's suppose to be showing up at the dealer lots ? I can't wait to see one .

Thanks for the replies guys,

min8251,
What are you planning to do with your '99? How are you planning to configure your '02 screw? Have you driven any late '01 4x4 screws yet to check out the package or the seats?

TroyK,
I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I read your reply. I just knew eventually someone would have fun with this thread. Your select choice of words could not have hit a better home run message in my opinion.

To everyone else,
I'm thorughly enjoying this Super Crew gang so far and I haven't had this much fun talking cars and trucks in years. Damn this is great therapy and it's free.

See Ya Later,

Daveman,

I am planning on trading in my 99 . Depending on what the dealer offers me.
I haven't driven a Screw yet . I figure it can't be much different than my 99 supercab .
I basically want my 99 with four real doors .

I am going to order a O2 XLT,Fx4, Captains chairs, Premium sound,Towing package , Limited slip rear, I'm even thinking about getting the entertainment package for the kids .

I like the Lariats , just don't like leather seats .

Maybe I will run by the dealer to day and Go "Screw Around" Test drive that is .

Good morning min8251,

I think if you test drive a screw you will find it is not exactly like your '99 with 4 doors especially when it comes to the seats.

Also, if you are handy, I would opt for the standard radio package and invest your money into a real premium stereo as the factory premium version is not worth the extra bucks.

I am sure you have heard of Crutchfields, if not then check out their web site at www.crutchfields.com. At Crutchfields, you can get a great stereo system with premium speakers and then I think you will have a premium system.

As far as the rear entertainment system goes, don't have a strong opinion but then again too many distractions while driving these days could be hazardous to your health as well as your family's.

With the Lariat, I used to be like you, didn't like leather but I had actually never owned a vehicle with leather. I hate getting shocked with a 1000 volts getting out of a vehicle with cloth seats in the winter when humidity is low. I had a '99 XLT with cloth seats and I got shocked regularly and was constantly lookin for a way to make it stop. Wrecked the '99 and ordered a Lariat with the leather seats and guess what. Shock never happens with leather as no static is created upon sliding out.

Remember, just my opinions, nothing else.

Good luck driving your first screw. Let me know how it turns out cause I'm curious.

Talk to Ya Later,
DaveMan

Everyone,

I'm gettin' screwed tomorrow. Check out my posting on this forum under "Getting screwed tommorow" to see what I had to say. Thanks a ton for all the helpful comments and suggestions, I will now be able to officially say I've been screwed!

Logical,
Chestnut it is!
I didn't copy you so don't jump to conclusions, it's the only color KR out of 2 of the same color the dealer had on their lot. I'm gonna get used to it real fast though. Thanks for all your help too. Let me know if this means breakup or gettin' closer?

TroyK,
Sorry, they didn't have a charcoal one for me to choose from and the price was just too damn good to pass up. I'm sure you'll still talk to me in the morning, right? And as you are well aware of, she's-a-wearin'-leather, less chains, handcuffs and whips of course.

i had a tuff time deciding myself. all three kr colours are real decent. the nice thing about the charcoal is its rarity. otherwise i'm with you, that leather is where it's at!
