I'm not sure if the 6 disc changer is unique to the SC, so I don't know if this post belongs here or on the audio board...

Does anyone know who makes the 6 disc changer? Specifically, I'd like to get some additional changer magazines, and Ford wants $75 ea. for them! Sounds a bit ridiculous to me. Does anyone know of any aftermarket sources? Fordpartsonline.com wants $57 each...

Any help would be appreciated...

 

You might try looking at aftermarket changers. I had a Factory changer in my wife's Avalon that was mfg'd by JVC. Wouldn't you know that the magazine from JVC was 80.00 less than the "Toyota" one?

Kind of off subject and pardon my ignorance, but can anyone tell if the unidentified holder in the lid of the center console is for the CD magazine?

 

For '99+ F-150, Expy, and other Ford products the changer is made by Clarion. The clarion part # is CAA-355-600 and it works perfectly. Looks identical save for the lack of silkscreen printing on it saying "...void waranty...". You can get them at most stereo stores for less than $30.

The holder in the lid is for a compact size kleenix tissue dispenser - - available at walmart/ target.
