My key chime goes off with the door open even if the key is not in it. I removed the switch and it seems to work fine (looking at it). If the lock is installed in column with the switch removed then the dinging stops, but if the switch is on the lock, ding.ding.ding.ect.

It's a simple switch that seems fine, what am I missing?

 

ok, so I remove the lock and then remove the switch from the lock (just to stop the dinging). That works sort of. Even with the switch out, if I wiggle the lock around with or without the key, it dings.

does seem to have a lot of wiggle
