Question 4x4 ??

A few questions about 4x4 high and low.
What's the difference, I know that low is a lot more torque is that it?
What is the top speed for high and low, when should you use low?

Thanks,

Rick

I believe the gear ratio from the transfer case high to low changes from 1:1 to about 2.4:1 . I have had it to 45 mph in low but it was wound pretty tight . I see you have had your truck for over a year now (neighbor post) and seems you have not been off road yet . What's up ? These are fun trucks off road .

Basically, yea, low is just gobs more torque. As far as when you should use it - you'll know. You get buried in some thick mud or traversing some steep hills and first gear just isn't getting it... ease her into low and LET IT RIP!

Thanks guys, I haven't had it off road yet, just through some snow. I've been looking for areas to play though.

You need to break her in!

Everytime it rains, I take mine out in the mudholes and do doughnuts and get stuck in ruts while in high, them switch to low and crawl out.
