Another hard cover...

In order to prevent me from paying for my hard tonneau cover out of pocket, I had it added to my finance deal with my local Ford dealer. They have a local company that puts them on for them. The brand the company uses is Jason Truck Tops. I found a link for them on-line. www.jasoncaps.com/tonneaus.htm . I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this particular brand, or whether I was going to be the first!

I don't know about Jason tonneaus, but I am still looking for a tonneau and I'll check out Jason. I'll let you know what I find out. I have a dealer in the area. The Dimension looks good. Is that what you ordered? And how much?

If it weren't for trucks, we wouldn't have tailgates.

It is going to cost $725 installed. I am not sure if that is the actual price or what the dealer is charging me (I am not naive enough to think they are doing this out of the goodness of their heart). I may call the actual installer tomorrow and get a personal quote. Well, on the other hand, I am not sure I want to know if I am getting screwed by my dealer! :-)

I guess it is worth a few extra bucks since it is wrapped into my monthly payment and I didn't have topay cash out of pocket.

I am still looking for a good option for a skid mat to go on my Ford bedliner so that my stuff won't slide around.

IMO, I wouldn't get a skid mat. The Ford/Duraliner installed from the dealer has a rough sand-like surface on the bottom. Stuff doesn't slide much in mine. Check the thread.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did notice that the Ford linr has a rough finish, but I figured it wouldn't hold something like a cooler in place on the road. I will do a little testing before I make a purchase of a skid mat. Thanks.

My biggest concern is that something big and heavy roll over my rods that lay corner to corner in the bed and break off a guide. That would be bad!

My local dealer sells both Leer and Jason but for Super Crews they highly suggest the Jason top. The dealer says he likes the look and lines of it better than the Leer.

I am still deciding between the Jason and ARE

Rasch,

Sadly, the sand finish on the bedliners does little to stop coolers and the like from sliding around everytime you take off or brake. The best(cheapest) investment is to get a cargo locking bar to stretch between the side walls and keep the cooler or storage boxes in one place.

Perhaps the server timed out for those 9 years and his reply was just posted today. Maybe some people are still on dial-up. That is funny.
