Cool Wheww... it fits!

Well, after much sweating and worrying, my SCREW fit cleanly into my garage yesterday. Of course, I had to eliminate everything from one side of my garage in order for it to fit lengthwise. That is a LOOONNNGGG vehicle! It was okay though, because I needed to get out and clean the garage anyway. The antenna hits the door on the way in, but only about the top 3-4 inches.

Woke up several times last night just to go down and turn on the garage light to admire the new truck!

Damn, these are good looking vehicles!

Had same issue with my garage. had to do some major cleaning before the beast would go in. Same issue with antenna. Went down to wal-mart and bought a 12.00 aftermarket antenna. It is significantly shorter, but reception has not been affected.

I thought I would have to take out my workbench to get it to fit. It comes in about 4" - 6" from that thing. I have to hang a cloth from the ceiling to make sure I don't hit the bench when I come in tired.

Late night admiring of the black beast in garage light from the kitchen floor is very normal. Espicially when it has been freshly washed and waxed. I still walk backward into stores while I admire the truck sitting in the parking lot as well.

But, I do get more comments from others about this vehicle than any I have ever owned from other F150 Extended Cab owners, short beds, Dodge folks, Chevy people as well the guys who want a truck like this but are stuck driving the big van or station wagon at the request of the wife. Their great, attractive trucks! Have fun!

I never thought I would admit it, but I also go out to the garage at night to admire my
Screw. Last night I went out in my pink flannel's and pink slippers trying to decide what type of bug guard & mud flaps I should get.
I'm going with the Ford molded rear flaps,
haven't decided on the bug guard yet.

Cool

Couple months shy of a full year of ownership. It doesn't get any better. Always finding an excuse to get something out of the garage.

I find myself looking at my screw often. my problem is, the truck fits though the door without a problem it's the length that I have a problem with. I put the front bumper up against the wall and still can't close the door. The garage must of been build for economy cars not a real vehicle like a screw.
I just have to wash it more often.

dakota, We both have the Island Blue/Silver
and I noticed you list Bug Shield on yours.
What kind did you put on? I don't know what
brand to get or what color. I'm thinking the
Smoke color would look nice~any suggestions?

All,

I'm the same way! I'm gald to know that I'm not alone. I frequently turn around to look at my truck when I'm walking away from it. I also sit near windows so that I can check it out.

I find that it looks great really clean or really dirty! There's no in-between!

OMG i am sooo guilty of this! I am always looking at them (I do it with both my rides.)

I installed a bug guard on sat. and after all my care and consideration making sure everything was perfect, so no marks would be apparent if I want to remove it... closed the hood looked great... opened hood... DAMMM 2 tiny dings in the paint, one on each side... MF!!!!!

I am royally pissed... off it comes .... gotta buy touch up paint... word to the wise is all I am sayin.

I got my truck wedged in the garage so tight I wasn't sure I'd get it out without hitting a wall. I was afraid the wife would hit it pulling her car in. I'm really babying the truck. Today was the first time I've started it in close to two months. What you want to do next is put a bed rug in.
The wife freaked when she came down at 3:00 A.M. and found me sitting in the bed.

cpafay's post about cutting a few inches off the top of the antenna works great.
After replacing the black tip, you can't tell
it has been cut.

Cool

Mine fits pretty good side to side in the garage, not much room to spare length wise. I bolted an 8 ft 2x4 to the floor so all I do is back in until I feel the 2x4 and its perfectly parked every time.. Another neat thing I found at target for the wifes side of the garage is this little motion activated laser. you mount it on the ceiling and when it shines down through your windshield to a predetermined spot you stop.
