Question Price increase??

Does anyone know if there are any recent price increases? I ordered mid June, I expect to receive maybe mid or late August. Just wondering if I will have to pay more, when my SuperCrew arrives.

I don't know about pricing but interest rates for both financing and leasing have come down since this is the last quarter of the 2000 model year. My lease is due in september and have been hoping I can afford a SuperCrew then. They want a higher rate for the SuperCrew than the regular F150.
Note that I am in Canada but I assume the same applies in the USA.

Cool

I do not beleive Ford is increasing prices for the 2001 model year... Take a look at http://www.blueovalnews.com/fordholdsprices.htm for more info.

Yep, you are right.
I'm getting my truck at invoice and it is higher then a few weeks ago. The 5.4 engine cost more now due to supply and demand. I think the base price is also up a little, but the biggest increase is the 5.4 engine.
I sure hope it is worth it....

Question

I originally ordered an XLT mid-June, changed my order yesterday to a LARIAT after deciding it would be more cost effective, living with the leather, after adding things to the XLT that are standard on the LARIAT.

I was thinking $600 difference based on previous numbers. I am on the X-Plan. My salesman said it would be $1,100 more. He just said it was the difference between the XLT and the LARIAT unsure of price change.

Does anyone know approx. how much the base price has increased??

Well, I stand corrected. Just checked Edmunds.com for invoice prices and the invoice cost for the Crew I want is up $545 from last week. This sucks. I guess Ford has to pay that 1.25% EXTRA rebat back to the dealers for after Sept. 1 invoiced 2001 trucks some how...

Part ID Invoice MSRP
Increase Increase
------------------------|--------|-------|
507A - XLT Base + 461.00 160.00
535 - Class III Tow + 11.00 10.00
91P - Premium 6 CD + 73.00 85.00
------------------------|--------|-------|
545.00 245.00

(Note: The 5.4L V8 is still the same)

Thumbs down

According to the info on CarsDirect there has been a price increase. Remote door locks are standard now but the increase is far more than that. The vehicle I ordered last week is up $310. I may be about this but I'm not concerned. I ordered the truck at a set price and put a deposit on it so I expect the price to be honored by the local dealer and Ford.

Demand and price seem to be holding pretty strong down here so after visiting a few dealerships I requested bids. I paid a true $500 over cost purchasing from a fleet manager. Not a great or a bad deal and it was made before I walked in the door.

Question

Hu,

Take the MSRP of your vehicle and multiply it by .0125 (1.25%).... I bet you find it close to your price increase of 310 dollars.

If you check www.Edmunds.com Holdback page, you will read about a Ford program to give an extra 1.25% MORE back to any dealer passing "Blue Oval Service" standards. I think the invoice increase is Fords way of funding the extra holdback. They now will get 4.25% vs 3% of MSRP if they are a Blue Oval dealer and the Invoice is received after Sept 1st 2000. If you order a vehicle now, the invoice is likely to be received by the dealer after 9/1 and they will get 4.25% of MSRP. Not a bad bonus if you are a dealer taking order based on invoice.

Now how do I haggle this point? I am still shopping and drolling....

SCrewBall,

How could you get such a ridiculous idea that our good friends at Ford would finance dealer incentives out of our pocket? I'm sure it's entirely coincidental that the cost increase is within a few dollars of that 1.25% mentioned. Of course I still believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny too.

Of course I assume that some dealers aren't Blue Oval certified and Ford will just make an extra buck off of those units sold. I still ain't paying it regardless.

Cool

The price increase was around 300 on the one I ordered. My dealer absorbed it. I was going to pay 500 over invoice for a total of about 28,500. I only paid 28,500 and the dealer made a little less on the deal. They did this only after I told them I had read on this site about dealers sellling for as little as 200 under invoice.
