So I went shopping for full size trucks, and the F150 was first on my list. I looked at the new Tundras, but they were too pricey, looked at the new Chevys but they were too ugly. Looked at the Ram, too out of date/thirsty. Looked at the new GMCs I liked! So it came down to either a F150 or a Sierra.
The fact of the matter was that the F150 was a tried and true design where as the Sierra was a brand new one. Also Ford was offering $6000 in rebates where GMC wouldn't budge. So I got a 2007 Supercrew FX4. Got the FX4 because it took a bunch of options I wanted from an XLT and put them all together. I struggled between getting 4wd vs 2wd. I decided on 4wd because it didn't add that much to the cost (FX4 vs FX2) and I figured it would be useful for if we ever want to go to the snow and/or if I end up attending college in Arizona. (Plus 4wds have more fun)
So far I love this truck! The extra room is excellent for someone as tall as me and now I have room for all my friends. No very much to complain about since almost everything is an improvement on the Ranger and I don't have much else to compare it to. Perhaps my only two complaints are that the grill is a little flimsy, and my Mom has a hard time getting in (but hey its a truck, if she wants step bars she can pay for them!) But man do I love this thing!

My 2007 Supercrew
I finally retired my1990 ,F-250 single cab 4WD with 208,000 and sent it up to the cabin in the Mts. where she will live out the rest of her life always in 4WD. Always wanted a 4 door! found a nice 2007 w/ under 20,000 miles and I couldn't be happier. My 15 mpg beats the hell out of the 10 that I got on the 1990 with a 460.Starting to add accessories, side steps, tow pkg, sheepskins in the front, air deflectors all around and mud flaps. Next a Westin Brush guard and a Go industries Headache rack. The 5.5 bed is a bit short but who cares. My first road trip (1,000 miles is coming up this weekend) Yeah now that gas is $3.05. i've never driven anything as comfortable as this truck.

Just picked up my '07 King Ranch with only 9,100 miles a couple weeks ago. Traded in my '99 Lariat SCab. I'm lovin the new truck so far. Makes my old Lariat look like a base model.
First mod will be a fold-up tonneau. By what I have read so far it seems that the bakflip may be the way to go. We'll see.

Mileage
I went from a 2004 regular cab stepside 4x4 4.6 to a 2007 Screw FX-4 5.4... I noticed a bit of difference in power, but I knew I had made the right choice when I pulled a loaded down 6x12 enclosed uhaul on a 5 hour trip and never knew it was back there.... Not to mention I still managed a 17mpg avg on that trip back.... I thought I was going to be getting about 12mpg... I was only getting about 14-15 on the highway in the 4.6 and I am getting up to 18 in the Screw with the only mod being a K&N filter... It rides like a lincoln... no complaints here... I've noticed that I seem to get considerably better mileage with the 18's as opposed to the 20's.. Everyone that i have talked to with 20's says they get a lot less mileage than I have been getting.. In town I get about 15mpg and highway is up to 18mpg..

2007 fx2 Screw F-150
I have a 2007 Fx2 Screw 5.4l here. I Have more problems with this truck then my last 99 F-150. Most of you have heard the spacer missing on the crank shaft problem. If not Some bonehead on friday night 3rd shift decided not to do his job and leave the spacers off the crank shaft causing the motor to start eating itself inside out. Took ford about a month to get a new motor in my truck. That happen at 2000 miles, Now I have to take it back in for noises at about 6500 miles. Other then that I love the truck. Hopefully it is nothing major where i can't drive my truck for another month

I bought my 2007 F150 Supercrew 4x4 in May of 07. My first new vehicle and I loved it. Unfortunately, in August some unlicensed, uninsured, stoners lost control of their vehicle and I t-boned them going about 50 mph. Damage on my vehicle was $13000 and my insurance company still decided to fix it. Now my truck rattles, and shakes, it will never run the same again.

Been a long time since I've replied to anything on this board. Got my 07 in Dec 06. It's 14 months old now and I'm just shy of 30000 miles. On a recent snowmobile trip I made the statement that this is the best truck I've ever owned. It a Super Crew 5.4 6.5 foot bed 4x4. I had a 2002 Screw, and this truck is the was the 2002 should have been. Absolutely zero problems with the truck. I get over 18 highway, and 16-17 back and forth to work. 10 -12 towing. My previous 150's were a 97 4.6 Scab 4x4, a 2000 5.4 Scab 4x4 a 2002 Screw 5.4 4x4, and my current. Drove every 150 and 2 other rangers to 100k and none were ever in for repairs. Ford Tough!!!
