JonF150, the thing you see just to the right of the cigarette lighter is actually the switch that turns on/off the sensor that beeps when you are backing up and are about to hit something. I don't know why you'd want to turn it off. Maybe if you were backing up to a trailer you were about to tow.....

However, just to the right of the A/C controls, underneath the A/C circular outlet, is a second 12V outlet. In the photo, my cell phone charger adapter is connected to it.

Worland, Wakefield Ford did a good job. In fairness to them, I made them do the process backwards. I had already driven F150s several times, and new exactly what I wanted. I had originally decided to order a new 2007 in the Fall, but the 0% percent financing deal they announced was too good to pass up. Since 0% was only available on 2006 models, I had to find a truck that had the equipment I wanted, and as little extra equipment as possible to hold the price down.

So I walked into Wakefield Ford and told the salesman that greeted me that I wanted a 2006 F150 Supercrew XLT, 4X2, 5.4L Triton V8, limited slip differential, tow package, and as little extra stuff as possible. Oh yeah, and my first choice was dark shadow gray and my second choice was silver.

The one he found had a few extras like power driver seat, heated mirrors with turn signals, the backup warning sensor, adjustable foot pedals, running boards, and a bed extender, and it was dark shadow gray.

My wife, who is about 5'2", said she really wanted me to get the adjustable pedals (her 2003 Toyota Camry has them) and the running boards so that she'd be able to get in and out and drive it occasionally. She also wanted me to add the Rhino Liner spray in bed liner.

So at that point I told Sam Moton, my salesman, to figure out the employee price and have his sales manager look at my trade. I work for Verizon Business, and Ford Motor Company is one of our customers. As such, Verizon Business employees are eligible for what the Ford dealers call "X Pricing", which is essentially the same as their employee discount, or so I am told.

So, they showed me the price, ran my credit, and took a peek at my 1997 Chevrolet S-10 ext. cab, 4 cyl., 5-spd. with 114k miles and a busted A/C. Like any good dealer, they tried to steal it. But I had called an acquaintance that owns a buy here/pay here lot, and also the General Manager of another local car dealer that I knew, and they both agreed on what my little truck was worth. So, when Wakefield Ford made their way up to that figure, which they eventually did, I said "OK, let's bill it out."

This was on Saturday night, weekend before last. They had to get the truck from another dealer, which turned out to be Crossroads Ford down in Cary, NC. Sam called me on Monday morning and said it was ready. I took delivery on Monday afternoon, and made Sam demo it for me.

Since I have never been a fan of white letter tires, I left with a "We Owe" to have the tires remounted, blackwalls out, and for the Rhino Liner. I have since had the tires turned around, and still need to get the bed liner put in.

Wakefield Ford has been a pleasure to work with so far.
