Bed / Cargo Lights

Is there a way to turn the cargo lights on independently of the interior lights? (without wiring a new switch)

Bed / Cargo Lights

Not without running new wires and a switch. The factory wires are in parallel with the interior light and would need a separate wire and switch to make them work independently.

I looked into this matter as I wanted the cargo light to be able to iluminate only without the interior lights coming on also.

Removed the overhead lamp assembly and traced the wires to find them and was considering using a switch to shut off the overhead and only light the cargo area but, that would still leave the door lights on....

After a lot of pulling & cranking, I finally got it lowered to the ground. I found strand of the steal cable broke, and got Knotted up inside the housing. I had to replace the spare tire carrier.
