Service Engine Light
Anyone else get the Service Engine Light?
I've got 16,000 miles on my 02' Screw (4.6L)
Recently noticed that the service engine light is staying on...
Not flickering, staying on while running.
I reviewed the manual.. three things to check...
Gas cap not tight
Poor fuel
Out of gas
I had just filled up, and have rechecked the cap...
My suspicion is the darn gas that I'm paying an arm/leg for, that it might have been bad, especially since the exhaust seems to have peculiar smell to it.
Any thoughts?

Could be none of the above....go by a Autozone and have them
scan it for free. May be egr or something like that. If you are sure it's not cap or gas, it could be something else. I have a Superchips micro tuner so i can get the codes when SES light comes on. Probably no big deal...that's what warranties are for!

Re: the gas causing the problem...
Just quoting the owners manual..
Indicates that a service engine light that is not flickering is caused by one of three problems
1) loose gas cap - recommended checking to make sure that the gas cap is tight
2) the vehicle is out of fuel
3) the fuel quality is no good - recommends filling up using the recommended octane fuel
If light flickers.. entirely different problem, and needs attention right away.
If the light does not goe off after fixing above mentioned items, after three cold start ups, then recommends taking to dealer.
All from the owner manual
