Horse power increase

I’m looking to increase my horse power either a pro charger or turbo whatever is more cost-effective than easiest to put on. I have a 2013 Lincoln navigator 5.4. Can anybody help me decide which way to go and is there something I can do myself fairly easy. Thanks

budget?

Captrob 12-08-2017 05:05 PM

Don’t really have a set budget but I would like to keep it reasonable. The main thing is I’m worried about reliability don’t want to damage the motor. Only has about 40,000 miles on it I would just like to get another 50+hp or so. Also it would be nice if I could get a kit that has everything I could install myself with in a day or two . Thanks for your information

i would not go procharger, go whipple and have $7k plus to do it right.

the days of go fast and cheap are gone. honestly i would not wast my time. a whipple 5.4 is going to run about like a new ecoboost tuned.

never see it in your resale value.

as you can see from this forum and others you might visit, not to many people dumping big money into the 5.4 or 4.6. the new 5.0 and ecoboost just run so much better.

Don’t know what Whipple is but I’ll investigate it. I really like the truck but maybe I should check into trading it in if they have a navigator with a bigger motor. Thanks for your help I really appreciate it

the newer SUV's have a 3.5 liter...

The new Navigators have a twin turbo 3.5 V6 Ecoboost that will blow the doors off a 5.4. They even have a 10 speed transmission now.

A tuner will give you some extra horses and will improve the throttle response. You will like the result.
