It's Alive! Dyno Tuning Done
Hi everyone... some of you probably remember the ordeal I went through (outlined here: https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...or-let-go.html). Anyway we finally got the new motor put together and the dyno tuning complete. Final numbers are:
(TO THE WHEELS) HP - 338 TQ - 401 This is a 4x4 on 34 tires. Shop estimated 25%-30% drivetrain loss so that works out to around 450-475 / 534-575. This is a 5.4 3v with a Vortech running at 10 psi. Not sure if that is good or bad but the truck feels healthy when you get on it... The Vortech is definitely soft on the bottom end but really picks up as the RPM build... not sure how long I'll be happy until I will want a twinscrew though. We shall see! At least the motor is built to handle 1000 hp so the sky's the limit (well that and my wife-controlled pocketbook). |
Bet it's nice to have it back together.

Congrats on getting her going!! Time to pulley for more boost and set up a waste gate.
Or make the switch to a Twinscrew. You won't regret it. Enjoy the ride. |
I am going to leave her like this for awhile. I have sunk so much money into it now that I need to take a break or my wife will murder me... Plus I have some project's on the Cobra that need to get done first.

Nice one fella. Happy for ya.
Bet she's like day and night now eh. |
Is a vortech "weaker" than a roush root style? (Not twin screw)
At this boost level my truck is making more, how come? |

The best test and real numbers to talk about are at the track. |
