plug gap tr6

Hey guys, I'm running a stock HD supercharger setup on my king ranch 5.4L running only 6-7lbs of boost....went to get it tuned again the other day, and they asked me what my plug gap is so i told them i had them somewhere between .040 and .044----they looked at me like I was crazy and said it needed to be .025-.028 on a NGK tr6. I feel like that's way to small for only running 6-7lbs........what should they be at?

The AGSF 32C is actually a TEMPO plug. We speak blowers here.
Now who would troyer do that to?

That's what I was saying 22 heat range is stock on 5.4 2v regular truck and on a lightning they use 12 heat range, so u said use one heat range cooler we'll if 22 is by sticker under hood wouldant 12 be one step cooler, and I'm talking motorcraft

Yep - .035

I have exactly the same truck running a bit more boost. No issues with the plugs.

Page 1 of the ProCharger manual specifies a low gap and Copper plugs. And you all know how I feel about ProCharger.

The AWSFA-12C would be the ticket for high boost applications. But notice it is not listed for stock boost levels. And it should be an 8 thread application. Times have changed a bit. I guess all the warranty claims on the Lightning has prompted them to make changes, but I cannot verify when they installed a 12. It is DEFINITELY possible they installed them from the beginning! To add to this, a simple heat range change DOES drop combustion temps, so this really is important stuff.

As I said, I never looked back because we have had no problems with the TR-6. But I do have the TR-5s installed at .035", and that fits your chart at 10-12 PSI. Of course I am sure that boost level will change as I progress.

The Copper Motorcraft plug with 8 threads will be an AGSF 32C. The 12FM1 is Iridium.

I looked but had yet to find the chart that suited me... I have seen it before but the 12 eluded me. Thank you!
any of those plugs in that chart will interchange between 4 or 8 thread PI heads....

4/8 thread heads are the same and the 4's were still being installed up to the 2003 lightning models....

I've seen some stock 2002+2003 lightnings with a 4 on one side and a 8 on the other....so there's no real difference between the two...

Seems to me MC discontinued the 4 thread plugs quite a while ago and now lists the 8 thread plugs for both the 4 and 8 thread heads.

Isnt it time you put this issue with MT to bed?
