Question is it possible to make the supercharger louder?

Hello,

I have a Roush supercharger, and when I watch the videos on YouTube of Ford Lightning the engine and supercharger sounds different and a lot louder than my Roush

Is it possible to make the supercharger louder and if so how?

For more noise you can send the blower out for porting and have the silencer holes welded shut (if they have it in the Roush setup)

Also more boost will allow more noise. My Whipple was fairly quiet at 8PSI. Makes an awesome sound pullied at 11PSI.

I don't want to lose power, is it a good idea to fill those holes?

can any garage do that or not? what parts are required (what's the cost also)?

The more you spin them the more noise they make. If your able to and have the mods to support more boost. Get a new pulley and raise the boost up.

The sound of forced induction is one of those uniquely satisfying things about cars and driving. It doesn't matter whether it's a turbo, centrifugal blower or a positive displacement device: it just sounds mean and awesome.

Low-boost, high-horsepower street or race cars usually sounds like a lot of work is going on behind the scenes; at moderate boost levels and power outputs they become much more aggressive sounding as it becomes clear that something very special is happening under the hood.

But perhaps the most satisfying sounds are those from long-stroke positive displacement superchargers, specifically, the kind that uses a gear drive to rotate the rotors.

The sound they make is different than just about any other type of forced induction. A centrifugal device sounds like it's struggling because it has to fight against the incoming air by spinning fast enough to accelerate all of it through the impeller, and a turbo sounds like it's really working because it has to send the compressed air out the exhaust pipe and then re-compress it after the compressor turbine so click here for more information.
