upgrading pulley on rouscharger? How?

I have the pulley puller, this bolt is to thread into end of shaft per instructions, but I would be unable to re-install the pulley.

Help?

They do, and I can take it off...the end is not drilled/tapped at all for the tool to thread into....

So been spending some time googling to see what I would need to get for bottom pulley to get 10 PSI on the stock upper.

I have an 8# lower on order, from information gathered, stock pulley=3.1 so then want 8# lightning lower to achieve 10psi.

So, I have a DUB 2.8" (if I remember) and a Metco pulley/installer tool, both unused that I no longer need. Also have stock air intake for Roush blower, stock blower belt, and stock caged pulley and sheave.

Motivated to sell lol...

.....that's the one I have....which is also the install tool. This blower is missing the threads in the shaft, so, if you read the instructions on the puller, it will tell you to thread the M8 stud into the end...but there are none hence the start of the thread. The threads are present on the Lightning and Cobra, as well as other OEM Eatons. They are, however, not present on the Roush revision.

Basically the options are:
1-remove old pulley, heat new pulley and slide on
2-remove old pulley, dis-assemble blower, press new pulley on
3-leave stock pulley alone, install overdrive crank pulley

I am going with option #3 as described in post #5.

Sorry I didn't catch the part about the shaft not having internal threads.....that's strange.....

I did a upper pulley swap on a 06 Roush f150 before Christmas and that one had the internal threads....

looks like option #3 is your only choice then if you don't want to remove the blower....

I bought a DUB's 3.4 pulley to keep the boost down to 11psi on standard Caged lower.

It's gotta have a threaded hole. 6mm I think. I used A PS puller and it was tight to get on.

*facepalm*. Don't want to be rude, but I feel I clearly communicated what I have(no threads) and I have the metco pulley removal/installation tool, and provided a picture. Other than drawing a picture in the sand, unsure how much more clearer I could be. so, no one has saved the day.

The stock pulley on the roush intercooled kit gives it about 7 psi so if yuou install a 8 lb lower pulley wouldn't that give you about 15 psi on that set up,not 10 psi that you want. The 3.1 is the diameter of the pulley ,not the psi of the blower, stock is abou 7psi

ps what would you sell the pulley and pulley puller for , ben thinking about doin it to mine,

My understanding is that the L uses a 2.93"pulley so that is where the 8# comes from Because the upper is larger, it is not an 8psi upgrade, but rather, becomes apporx 10.5 psi with the stoch roush pulley.

Yes, I would sell the pulley puller and pulley. PM me an offer. Both new/never used.

Well am sure. Didn't you originally ask what other people where using on there Roush blowers? That's the reason why I posted the DUB's pulley.

Maybe not? Mmm

I see the logic, but my gut feeling is that i still to much boost than your looking for.

here,s wha ti'm thinkin'

roush stock about 7 psi

L stock 8-9 lb

top pulley for roush would lose about 2 lb from lightning set up if the bottom pulley is the same

roush stock upper 6 lb + 8 lb lightning lower=13- 14

help me understand

No. You are totally missing it. The pulley is only an 8# pulley on the lightning. You cannot look at it as an 8# pulley unless you are running the same diameter on the top.

This is were I wish I was good at math so I could calculate the rev per min which the pulley diameter changing.
