How many RPM's?

For those of you that are supercharged, how many RPM's do you shift at wide open throttle? If you have forged internals, how many RPM's do you think would be safe??

It seems odd to me that with my custom tunes from Troyer, he only had my truck shifting at 5,000 RPM's even on the "max performance" tune.

My street tune shifts as follows
1-2 5300rpm
2-3 5200rpm
Drag tune
1-2 5400
2-3 5300
There could be 50rpm added to any of the numbers above. I would have to check my notes. With forged internals your limit will be the torque converter and trans if stock which is 6000 max and if I remember correctly is still pushing it a bit. Do you have any thing other than the stock fuel pump for fuel supply?

My 2V 5.4L with stock internals and pushin 12# of boost, on a lifted truck with 38s. I would shift at 5200-5300ish.

Nope, it is still the stock fuel pump. I have heard about either getting a bigger fuel pump or getting a boost a pump setup, but I am not sure if I need it or not unless I start putting more mods on.

Ahh. Thats why he has your shift points set low. I'll bet he has your top end capped at 120mph too. The risk of running out of fuel is to great with 10+ psi to turn more rpm's.

Right now I shift at 4900 rpms because tune is set for smooth driving. Racing tune should be around 6000 rpms I would guess. Troyer said motor could handle 7000 if I wanted to push it. I wouldn't do it though.

Hope you have a built motor and better valve train, if not he is full of **** even if you do that's still over spinning a 2V 5.4.

Around 5300 for a decent torque shift. Not sure on red line, IDE have to look through the paper work.

I never really do WOT shift's. I mainly use it for short bursts or on the highways.

The guys with built tranny can do whatever, whenever.

6500 on a built 5.4 3v and transmission here, never had any problems. Going to see if it makes more power with my new intake manifold ant try to do 7000 rpm :) I'm N/A though.

Motor is built from top to bottom with all the good stuff and its a 4.6L.

What kind of fuel pump or "boost a pump" setup would you recommend? I am guessing I am down the road going to need a new transmission considering how hard it launches in AWD! The wheel hop isn’t good when I launch, but if I put it in 4 high, it takes off like a banshee! Being that it is a Limited, I do not have an option of 2 wheel drive or 4 low. Honestly, I don't mind that since tires for those 22"s aren't cheap!

Here's what you would need for a stronger pump http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13656214136424
And of course there is always the BAP from Kenne Bell
