Latest Dyno #'s

Well, I finally got all the mods done and to the tuner before I left for a short trip! I'm just getting back to post the sheets.

While respectable IMO, especially for a nearly 6000 lb. truck; I have to be honest when I say I was a little disappointed in the numbers being lower than I like. The weather (high humidity) definitely played a role in the "lower" numbers and from what I have been told, this particular Dyno brand reads "low".

Although I changed to a 3.0 (10 psi) pulley, as you can see from the graph, it doesn't actually reach 10 psi until the absolute end of the run. Also, the torque looks funny spiking very early? BTW, it does run great at all throttle settings.

What do you all think?

George

I don't exactly know what you are looking for here? A change of camshafts would put the torque curve decending closer to max hp. Cam overlap for higher RPM's? As it is it looks like a super high torque for truck use. Pull baby pull. That torque curve is so flat somethins gotta break. LOL

Just looking for opinions as I'm new to all this; and to see if this is "normal or not"!

That's fairly normal. Big wheels and an unforgiving dyno. Why are you shifting at 6000? Power really ends at 5500. Is it a mustang dyno?

If you are using the truck for pleasureyour burning the wheels offer. If your pulling a trailer with a race car you'll getr done of bust it.

Looks like pretty good numbers to me. 400 whp and nearly 500wtq is awesome IMO. Granted I'm more familiar with FI on Mustangs. And that's just a torque spike from them rolling into the throttle, I wouldn't worry about it. The a/f ration looks spot on though. Looks like a solid/safe tune.

How many degrees of timing?

big wheels, "low" reading dyno, and air quality will make a difference.

Don't be scared and go 12lbs!

I'm not sure of the timing or the shifts. I wasn't there for the tuning session.

J,

You're killing me with this "advice" sir!

I'd love to do more, but do not want to get into fuel upgrades, tranny, and possible "internal" engine mods.

I think the only other thing I am considering is a killer chiller for the current set-up to keep IATs more consistent.

Are IAT's an issue right now? As long as the tune is safe and pulls timing, you should be fine unless your planning on going to the drag strip or your making frequent high boost runs.

Not an issue that I know of, but runs high on hot days or after the trucks sits for a while soaking up the heat. There are no track runs and just occasional "spirited" driving now & then!
