Turbo Set-up Q's?
In the next year or two I would really like to put a turbo set up on my truck. Not really a fan of the under body remote turbo setups. How much for just parts needed would I be looking at? Not really looking for huge power gains just love the sound and some extra get up and go with future upgradability would be nice. Anyone got any advice, ect. they'd like to share? Thanks!

Forgot to add I've got an 04 5.4l with 80k miles. Has high flow cats, dynamax bullet, afe cai as of yet. Thanks guys.

honestly it depends, variable vane, a/r, housing flange, turbine size, etc...
do you want it built for you or do you want to build it yourself? I know PSI in houston will charge you about 7k-15k for a single turbo |
Yikes.
For that coin, I'd just get one of these and be happy. Immediate power, and far better low-end grunt too. http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...oCo%20Vehicles |
I have the technical knowledge to peice it together and install. No, I haven't worked in depth as far as a truck engine rebuild, but with a technical background that I have I feel I could do it.
If a simple setup was more than a new supercharger I would most likely ditch the idea and stay n/a. |
IF you can bargian shop and take your time collecting parts, you can probably get it done for under 4 grand

A great source for Turbo info is theturboforums.com . The can help with turbo and part selection for your power level plans. The rest is cutting and welding the parts.
